Gdansk
Gdansk, Poland — what to do while your ship is in port.
Gdansk's Long Market (Dlugi Targ) is lined with restored Hanseatic merchant houses and the Neptune Fountain, and the city is one of the world's best places to shop for Baltic amber, mined along this coast for centuries. The European Solidarity Centre covers the shipyard's role in the fall of communism, and the Crane (Zuraw), a medieval port crane on the Motlawa River, is a well-known landmark.
